Triangles Thornton Smacks 5 Hits

There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.

Otis Thornton is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Burlington Senators at Devereaux Meadow Park. The monster effort from the 24-year-old catcher helped the Raleigh-Durham Triangles get the win, 13-0.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Senators manager <Nick Teschner:coach#575>. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."

Otis Thornton singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 7th.

This year, Thornton is batting .344 with 56 hits, 2 home runs, 20 RBIs, 30 walks, .443 OBP and has scored 27 runs.
