Ransom Belts 5 Hits

Even with the loss, Ransom was pure misery for the Waterloo pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-9 in an explosive display of hitting.

Walt Ransom singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, struck out in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th, struck out in the 14th and flied out in the 16th.

Ransom Slaps 5 Hits

There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.

Walt Ransom is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Wisconsin Rapids Twins at Danville Field. The monster effort from the 19-year-old shortstop helped the Danville Warriors get the win, 21-3.

"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Twins manager <Kyle Turnbough:coach#563>. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."

Walt Ransom hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 5th and walked in the 7th.
