St. Petersburg Beats Lakeland as Denny Throws 4-0 Shutout

Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Lakeland Tigers as starter John Denny shut them out, 4-0, at Al Lang Field. The St. Petersburg pitcher struck out 8 and walked 3 while allowing 2 hits.

"Denny was good but he wasn't flawless," Lakeland manager <Phil Howard:coach#501> said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from St. Petersburg, but this is on us."
