Hinton Tames Phoenix
Rich Hinton of the Tucson Toros shut out the Phoenix Giants, 8-0, at Hi Corbett Field, holding them to 6 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.
Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Phoenix skipper <Ken Hernandez:coach#266> called the outing from Hinton "a jewel."
"The way Hinton was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said.
Over the season Hinton has thrown 75.1 innings and dished out 52 strikeouts with a 3-3 mark and a 3.46 ERA.
