The California League Player of the Week has been honored. This week the trophy went to Jerry Stephenson of the Bakersfield Dodgers for his outstanding mound performance.

San Jose Stymied by Stephenson
Bakersfield Dodgers pitcher Jerry Stephenson blanked the San Jose Bees, 4-0, at Sam Lynn Ball Park, tossing a 4-hitter while issuing 1 walk and collecting 9 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he shared credit with the rest of the club.
"I was just locked in out there and some of that is due to having a catcher who has such a great feel for hitters," Stephenson said. "I couldn't do what I did without all the guys out there today."
