Brown Cracks 5 Hits

Today at Turnpike Stadium, Leon Brown put on an impressive display.

The Dallas-Fort Worth Spurs right fielder tagged San Antonio pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the San Antonio Missions by the score of 13-7.

"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Brown said. "5-for-6 ain't bad in any league."

Despite the terrific performance, the Spurs manager was unwilling to offer the right fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.

"Leon told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Joe LaTour said.

Leon Brown doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.

This year, Brown has hit at a .344 clip with 21 hits, no home runs, 3 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
