Fred Kendall Wins PCL Trophy
Fred Kendall must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .545 clip, then the Salt Lake City catcher finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the PCL Player of the Week Award.
He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too."
For the week Kendall batted .545 (6-for-11) with 3 home runs and 7 RBIs.
This year, Kendall is batting .307 with 50 hits, 6 home runs, 34 RBIs, 11 walks, .348 OBP and has scored 18 runs.
