Roy White battered AL pitchers all April and wound up taking home the Batter of the Month Award.
"I've been around Major League Baseball long enough to know you really have to work hard day in and day out to be able to put up this kind of consistency," the 26-year-old White told reporters. "I put in a lot of work, even on the days I might not take the field, and it's always nice when everything comes together for me like it did this last month."
In 21 games, White hit .418 with 6 home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 19 runs.

New York Left Fielder Picked AL Player of the Week
New York fans have something to crow about today as New York left fielder Roy White nabbed the AL Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days.
"I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said White.
He posted a .500 average (14-for-28) this past week with 1 home run, 6 RBIs, and 6 runs scored.
